This commissioning contract was created in 2022, in consultation with Edwards Creative Law. It has been designed specifically for the commissioning of composed music. This contract outlines the rights of the composer and creates a framework for fair treatment and clear communication of standards between the composer and commissioner.
Both composers and commissioners are always encouraged to enter into an agreement by contract in order to clarify the terms for commissioned works.
