A new initiative started in 2022-23 in collaboration with ArrayMusic and The Array Ensemble, the Composer Salons are designed to offer tailored to early-career/emerging composers who may be struggling to access traditional workshops, reading sessions, and other professional development opportunities.

These salons will combine a presentation by an international composer and a performance of one of their works by the Array Ensemble; a reading session for four Canadian composers featuring a subset of musicians from the Array Ensemble; and a social gathering following the presentation and reading session.

These salons will take place at the Array Space in downtown Toronto, and they will be fully hybrid events so folks who can’t make it in person can still tune-in online. The sessions will be recorded and participants will be free to use the recordings for non-commercial purposes.
