The CLC is thrilled to announce the release of our new Model Music Services Agreement. Much like our existing Model Commissioning Contract, this new resource was drafted in collaboration with Edwards Creative Law, one of Canada’s leading entertainment law firms. Designed specifically for use in musical contexts, this contract provides a flexible template for composers that are either being contracted for their services, or contracting the services of another party. The contract outlines the rights for both parties and creates a framework for fair treatment and clear communication of standards between composer and contractor.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Byron Pascoe, a partner at Edwards Creative Law, provided an in-depth overview of the contract, explain how to use it in professional situations. You can watch the webinar here.
