The Canada Council for the Arts, Canada’s public arts funder, has introduced new funding categories. In this discussion, CCA Music Officer Jeff Morton offers insights into grant opportunities, eligibility, and strategies for effectively communicating your artistic goals in a peer assessment process.

3. Present Your Own Concert

Thursday March 23, 1:30-3:30 pm
Canadian Music Centre*, 20 St Joseph St

Chamber music in Canada has been defined by collective organizing of artist-run spaces, composer collectives, and ensembles. Given the degree to which this organizing is unpaid, our community suffers from burn-out and the loss of institutional memory. In this panel we hear from artists who have self-presented about their strategies, successes, and challenges. The panel will be moderated by Monica Pearce of the Toy Piano Composers, who will be joined by Cheryl Duvall of the Thin Edge New Music Collective, and Nick Storring of ratio.

Note : The professional development sessions offered above will be offered in English only.
