This workshop offers composers integral information about the singing instrument and insight into a singer’s interpretation of their scores.

Composition exercises (with piano accompaniment) will strengthen relevant writing skills, facilitate peer discussion, and create a meaningful collaboration with the singer while maintaining a sense of exploration and play.

Lyricism and leaps
International Phonetic Alphabet
Text setting
Staged versus unstaged media
